A Thank You to Our Veterans

Today is Veterans Day in the United States. It is a day we set aside to loudly proclaim thanks and gratitude to our nation’s Veterans.

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday which honors people who have served in armed service, also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect.)

I have never had the privilege of serving in the military. However, I am profoundly grateful for those who have and are currently. I am eternally grateful for their service and want to take this opportunity to honor them on this special day.

  • Thank you veterans all over the world. Australia has Nov 11 as Remembrance Day or colloquially known as Red Poppy Day. We wear paper red poppies. Everyone stops what they are doing for 1 minute at 11 a.m. to remember the sacrifice our countrymen and women made for us to be free.
