The Social Reviewer of Books

There is a revolution going on in the book review business and we know all what revolutions do. They destroy the perfect and then they enable the impossible. Which brings me to my point, the age of the professional reviewer is quite possibly over. Social media has created more platforms for the spread of information and ideas, that no longer can a single individual (well maybe Oprah) make a movie, a restaurant or a book into a bestseller.

We are now in the connection economy and the connection economy enables an influential blogger to sell thousands of books. It enables that blogger to spread ideas that reaches others, influencing not just the reader, but the fans who read that person’s blog or tweets. And so its viral.
